Building on its participation in national events and within the framework of its regulatory role concerning publishing and the clearance of books and publications, the General Authority for Media Regulation participated in the Madinah Book Fair. The event lasted for a week, from July 30 to August 6, and represented a significant opportunity for the Authority to engage with the public and those interested in the media and publishing sectors.
The Authority allocated a special booth at the fair to serve visitors, where it showcased the book clearance process for those interested in this area. It explained the criteria used in the clearance process and provided visitors with the chance to interact with the Authority’s representatives, ask questions, and share their ideas.
The Authority also took advantage of its participation in the fair to raise awareness about the importance of professional registration for media professionals. In this context, the booth featured a dedicated platform for direct professional registration, allowing media professionals to register with the assistance of the Authority’s representatives present at the booth. This initiative aims to encourage media professionals to join the professional registration system, contributing to the enhancement of the profession and ensuring adherence to professional and ethical standards.
The General Authority for Media Regulation's participation in the Madinah Book Fair underscores its ongoing efforts to open channels of communication with the public and develop the media sector in the Kingdom. The fair provided an opportunity to highlight the Authority’s role in regulating the media and publishing sectors and reaffirm its commitment to supporting and assisting those interested and specialized in this vital field.
